JULY 18, 2022 Special Meeting

PRESENT:  Mayor Larry Hollis

Donna Lefler, Art Nutzhorn 1st Ward Alderman

Michael Schott, Connie Jacobson 2nd Ward Alderman

Ryan Kelly, Rob Finney 3rd Ward Alderman

CALL TO ORDER:  Mayor Hollis called the special meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

There are three applicants to interview.  Matthew Forstrom, Kyle Cantwell, and Mike Forstrom.  

The first interview was with Matthew Forstrom.  Starting at the $20.00 pay rate, experienced with handling heavy equipment, has CDL license, works well with others, has a 2 yr. degree from Illinois Central College in heavy equipment diagnostics and repair.

The second interview was with Kyle Cantwell.  Starting at the $20.00 pay rate, experienced with handling heavy equipment, does not have a CDL license, and works well with others.  Kyle started working part-time for the city plowing snow in December of 2020.   

The third interview was with Mike Forstrom.  Mike is Matt Forstrom's brother. Mike will start at $20.00 pay rate.  Mike has his CDL license, he is a mechanic, can operate heavy equipment also.  Would like to compensate a dollar or two more an hour because the city has no insurance.  

The council ended up deciding to hire Matt Forstrom at $20.00 per hour.  

IMRF:  Michael Schott made a motion to pass Resolution 934 the Internal Revenue Code Section 125 Plan to Include Compensation Paid as IMRF earnings.  Rob Finney 2nd Donna Lefler voted no, motion passed.
